Passion and Resurrection: Music of Bach and Ešenvalds

Robert Bode, Artistic Director and Conductor
Guest artists: Hannah Consenz, soprano; CANW Chamber Strings

Our mid-season concert offers unparalleled musical drama, combining dynamic CANW voices with orchestral strings and heralded soloist Hannah Consenz. Alice Parker’s haunting Wondrous Love begins the evening, setting the stage for three unmatched choral masterworks to follow: Johann Sebastian Bach’s sublime Easter cantata Christ lag in Todesbanden, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s beloved Ave Verum Corpus, and Latvian composer Ēriks Ešenvalds’s powerful Passion and Resurrection. Under the expert guidance of Artistic Director, Robert Bode, this evening promises to be a bold and brilliant exposition of humankind’s most eternal concerns – love, loss, recovery and renewal.
